National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (UG), 2019 Admission Notice

As per the India Council Act-1956, as amended in 2018 & the Dentists Act-1984 as amended in 2018, online applications are invited for NEET UG – 2019.

The exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in India approved by Medical/ Dental Colleges approved by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

AIMS & JIPMER Pondicherry are only two exceptions from NEET UG, as they are established through the Act of Parliment of India.

Admission to all seats of MBBS/BDS courses will be done through National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (UG), 2019.

The seats are categorized in the following categories:

  • All India Quota Seats
  • State Government Quota Deats
  • Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities
  • State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical/ Dental Colleges or any Private University

Requirement of AADHAR Number ??? :

Adhaar Card is also not compulsory to fill the NEET Application. But, students have to required any ID proof to apply for the exam.

Pattern of Test:

The NEET (UG) shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions ( four options with a single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry, Biology {Botany & Zoology}.

The duration of test will be of 3 hours from 02:00 pm to 05:00 pm.

Eligibility Criteria:

Indian Nationals, Non-Residents Indians (NRI’s), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI’s), Person of Indian Origin (PIO’s) are eligible for appearing in NEET UG, 2019.

The candidate must have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December 2019 i.e. the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS course.

The upper age limit for students seeking admission in MBBS/BDS seats shall be 25 years as on the date of examination with as relaxation of 5 years for candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC category and persons entitled for reservation under the Disabilities Act, 2016.

The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination.

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Biotechnology must be 40% in qualifying exams.

Candidates who are suffering from disabilities under Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Biotechnology must be 45% in qualifying exams.

Candidates with two years with a regular & continuous study of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology taken together shall be required at 10+2 level.

Candidates who have passed 10+2 from open schools or as private candidates shall not be eligible to appear for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-UG. Also, a study of Biology/Biotechnology as an additional subject at 10+2 level will not be allowed to take NEET.

Those who are appearing in Class 12th examination in 2019 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the above condition later.

As the state of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana has decided to join and contribute their MBBS/BDS seats for the allotment to candidates under 15% AllIndia Quota for the academic year 2018-19 onwards, the candidates belonging to these sates shall also be eligible for 15% All India Quota Seats.

Reservation of Seats & Admission in Medical/Dental Colleges:

An All India merit list and All India Rank of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test and candidates shall be admitted to MBBS/BDS courses from the said list only by following the reservation policies.

All Admission to MBBS/BDS courses within the respective categories shall be based solely on the marks obtained in NEET.

All other existing criteria for admission to Medical/Dental Colleges shall be applicable as per Rules and Policies of the State/UT/Instituion/ University concerned.

Disclosure: Private colleges of Bangalore haven hiked the fees to 10 times more for management quota and Nri Quota seats which remain vacant even after conducting 3 rounds of common counseling & mop round counseling.

These seats are converted and sold by colleges to students who qualified the Neet and verified their eligibility with the concerned counseling agency i.e Karnataka Exams Authority [KEA]

MBBS Admission Neet UG 2019 Syllabus

Mode of the exam- the NEET has conducted in pen and paper-based manner; an OMR sheet will be provided to the candidate where they will mark the correct answer of their choice which will be given to the candidate inside the examination center.

Question Paper – The question paper will comprise of a total of 180 questions of MCQ type where four questions will be given from physics chemistry a biology section.
