State Wise Bonds NEET UG 2023: In MBBS Admission, Penalty Amounts

Statewise Bond For NEET UG

State wise Bond For NEET UG 2023: In India, MBBS admissions come with a distinctive aspect – the bond. It can be either a service bond, requiring service to the state after course completion, or an admission bond designed to discourage students from discontinuing studies midway or transferring to other colleges.

Currently, the admission bond is primarily applicable to most deemed-to-be universities, private medical colleges, and certain government colleges. On the other hand, the service bond’s applicability to students varies depending on the state in which they pursue their course. Regardless of the type of bond, violating its conditions leads to severe penalties, ranging from a somewhat reasonable Rs 1 lakh for dropping out of a college without completion to an astronomical Rs 1 crore for failing to serve the state. The bond system and its penalties are predominantly in place for public medical colleges, where education is heavily subsidized by taxpayers.

In this section, we examine the state-wise bonds that apply to MBBS admissions. After seat allotment and confirmation through NEET counseling, students are required to sign these bonds. In most instances, it involves signing a notarized document outlining the bond’s terms, which come into effect if students fail to comply with the admission policies. The clauses mentioned here primarily pertain to government colleges unless stated otherwise.
