Dr BR Ambedkar Medical College (MD/MS Admission) has been established in the year 1981 by Ananda Social and Education Trust, with the objective of providing Primary, Secondary and Tertiary health care facilities to the deserving. The institution also envisages to produce doctors with best possible professional knowledge and attitude of service above self, both at Undergraduate and Post graduate levels.
All the faculty members impart up to date knowledge and help the students in research and academic activities. All the staff , help the students whenever required with immense pleasure. Though aimed at reaching the heights of excellence in the field of Medical, Health and patient care , adequate opportunities for extra curricular activities like sports and cultural is also given for all round personality development of the students.
Till date more than 3000 students have graduated from this college and working as professional doctors across the globe . The college has been conducting postgraduate courses since 1992 in 18 disciplines. The Institute provides a very good infrastructure for medical care and research. It has been in the forefront of academics and health care .

MBBS Programme
Annual intake of students for the MBBS course is 100 and is recognised by Medical Council of India, New Delhi and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.
The duration of the course is 4 years of academic study and 1 year of compulsory internship . As per the new regulations of Medical Council of India (MCI) the MBBS course has been divided into 3 phases as per the details.

ADDITIONAL TRAINING: Candidates will note that the regulations of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences also prescribe the following: A language course in Kannada is conducted compulsorily for all new entrants.Courses are conducted by the college on Human Resources, including Medical Ethics, Rural Orientation Programme, Indian Constitution, Basics of Computers and Behavioural Sciences. Attendance for these is compulsory.
