Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute started by a private trust in 1985 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The medical college is having a deemed status as per the UGC Act 1957. The affiliated university is Sri Ramachandra University. The most sought after medical institution in Tamil Nadu as well as India. The medical institution conducts an NEET Entrance test to select students into UG / PG courses.
Origin of College – With the initiation and untiring efforts of the industrialist Sri NPV Ramasamy Udyar, the first private medical institution in Tamil Nadu was born. Sri Ramachandhra Medical College was started in 1985 with the help of then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Bharat Ratna Late Sri MG Ramachandran. From two storey building to one of the best hospital not only in India but world.
UG / PG Courses – The UG course is MBBS. The PG courses are in Diploma, MD, MS, DM and MCh. All of these UG / PG Courses are recognized by Medical Council of India.
Admission in MBBS Course – For getting admission into MBBS course in SRMC, the students have to qualify NEET UG Entrance Test conducted by NTA. The selection of the students is done based on the ranks obtained in the NEET UG Entrance Examination.
Eligibility for MBBS Admission in Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute
The candidate must have passed Higher Secondary Certificate (H S C) examination or 10 plus 2 examination or 12th class examination or equivalent examination and obtained a minimum of 50% (SC/ST & Other Backward Classes (OBC) must have obtained a minimum of 40%) marks taking together Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) and a pass in English.
