MCI Screening Test Exempted For US UK Australia 2024
MCI Screening Test exempted for US / UK / Canada / Australia / New Zealand qualified medical under-graduates & post-graduates, seeking provisional / permanent registration with MCI for enrollment as medical practitioner in India.
This is an amendment made by the Medical Council of India in December 2011. This means the Undergraduates and Post Graduates having medical qualifications from the above-mentioned 5 countries shall not have to qualify for the MCI Screening Test.
The amendment made in the MCI Screening Test Regulations 2002 (M.C.I Screening Test exempted for US / UK / Canada / Australia / New Zealand) is applicable only to the students who are having medical degrees from the countries mentioned below –
“United States of America & Canada from North America, United Kingdom from Europe, and Australia & New Zealand from Asia-Pacific. For your information – number of universities from US are 153, Canada 16, UK 38, Australia 26, and New Zealand 3.”
Amendment to the MCI Screening Test Regulations 2002 ( MCI Screening Test exempted for US / UK / Canada / Australia / New Zealand) has been made and known thereof as MCI Screening Exam (Amendment) 2011 and mentioned below:
“A person seeking provisional or permanent registration shall not have to qualify the MCI Screening Test if he/she holds an Under Graduate medical qualification from Australia/Canada/New Zealand/United Kingdom/United States of America and the holder thereof also been awarded a Post Graduate medical qualification in Australia/Canada/New Zealand/United Kingdom/United States of America and has been recognized for enrollment as medical practitioner in that country”.
MCI Screening Test exempted for the 5 countries – A Welcome Step
This is good news because the medical-qualified graduates from these 5 countries need not go through the rigmarole of applying for an eligibility certificate and appear for the M.C.I Test. A wonderful opportunity for India to bring back the NRI brain drained doctors settled in the above mentioned 5 countries (MCI Screening Test exempted for US / UK / Canada / Australia / New Zealand). The medical college facilities in these nations are of high standards.
It is not yet clear whether in the future the Indian aspirants (M.C.I Screening Test exempted for US / UK / Canada / Australia / New Zealand) looking forward to go to these countries to acquire MBBS degrees require to qualify for the MCI Screening Test.
Please be advised to check up with the Medical Council of India, New Delhi before applying to the above-mentioned countries and also ascertain that MCI Exam is not mandatory for such aspirants going to these 5 countries. So that the aspirants need not apply for an eligibility certificate and are not required to appear for MCI Screening Test after coming back with an acquired MBBS degree from the above-mentioned 5 countries.
