Andhra Pradesh MBBS Phase 1 Free Exit 2026 Window Announced

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (UHS), Andhra Pradesh, has issued a notification allowing candidates to opt for Free Exit from Phase 1 MBBS seats allotted under the Competent Authority Quota (CAQ) for the academic year 2026-27.

The notification is dated September 10, 2026, and applies to candidates who reported to or joined their Phase 1 allotted MBBS seat. Eligible candidates must submit their Free Exit request to the Principal of the concerned medical college before the prescribed deadline.

Andhra Pradesh MBBS Free Exit Deadline 2026

Candidates can opt for Free Exit up to:

September 12, 2026, before 2:00 PM

The request must be submitted to the Principal of the concerned college in the prescribed format. After the deadline, candidates will not be permitted to withdraw from a joined Phase 1 CAQ seat.

What Happens After a Free Exit Request?

After accepting the Free Exit request, the college Principal must:

  • Return the candidate’s original certificates.
  • Refund the complete tuition fee.
  • Refund other fees paid by the candidate, wherever applicable.
  • Update the candidate’s status in the counselling data.
  • Treat the candidate as not reported or not joined for the Phase 1 seat.

The vacated seat will be considered for filling during Phase 2 counselling, as per the applicable admission rules.

Important Condition: No Further CAQ Counselling

Candidates who opt for Free Exit will not be eligible to participate in further Competent Authority Quota counselling rounds for the 2026-27 academic session.

However, such candidates may still join Management Quota Phase 1 counselling conducted by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences if they are allotted a seat under that category.

Candidates should therefore make an informed decision before submitting a Free Exit request.

Rules for Candidates Who Do Not Opt for Free Exit

Candidates who reported to their Phase 1 seat but do not use the Free Exit facility will automatically become part of Phase 2 counselling.

Such candidates:

  • Will remain eligible for Phase 2 web options.
  • Can participate according to their choice and counselling priority.
  • Will be governed by the rules applicable to Phase 2.
  • Cannot resign from the seat during later phases if they miss the Free Exit deadline.

The university has clarified that candidates who do not opt for Free Exit will not be permitted to resign during Phase 3 or after the Free Exit period until the admission process closes.

Rules for Candidates Who Did Not Report

Candidates who were allotted a Phase 1 seat but did not report to the college can participate in Phase 2 web options.

However, they will not be allowed to select the same college seat that they failed to join in Phase 1. They may exercise web options for other eligible colleges according to the counselling rules.
