AP MBBS/BDS 2026 NRI/NRI Lapsed Category Notice Out

AP MBBS/BDS 2026 NRI/NRI Lapsed Category Notice has been released. Candidates can check the eligibility, document requirements, and counselling instructions for Management Quota admissions.

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Vijayawada has issued an important notice for candidates admitted under Management Quota for MBBS and BDS courses (2026-27) who applied for both NRI Quota and NRI Lapsed category. The notice, dated 26 September 2026, clarifies how such candidates’ seat allotment will be handled.

What the Notice Says

According to the university, some candidates under Management Quota had opted for both NRI Quota and NRI Lapsed category simultaneously. NTRUHS has now clarified the process for these candidates:

  • Candidates found eligible for NRI Category after document verification will be considered for NRI Category seats only.
  • Candidates found ineligible for NRI Category due to non-submission of required documents will be considered for NRI Lapsed category seats in Phase-III (Mop-Up) or subsequent counselling phases – subject to re-uploading of a Notarized Affidavit as per the notification.
  • The document-uploading facility for either NRI Category or NRI Lapsed Category will be allowed only after Phase-I/Phase-II allotments this year, due to a delay in release of the Management Quota (NRI Category) counselling procedure by the Government. The university has clarified this arrangement is a one-time exception and will not set a precedent for future years or for Competent Authority Quota counselling.
