NEET UG Exam 2024
National Testing Agency has been authorized by Govt. of India to conduct NEET UG from 2024 onwards.
NTA is an autonomous organization that conducts transparent entrance exam for admission in premier institutions of India.
The role of NTA in the NEET-UG are as follows:
Conducting the NEET UG 2024 Entrance test.
Declaration of the NEET-UG results.
Deciding the qualifying Cut-off Score of the NEET-UG.
Providing the NEET UG Rank card.
Supplying results to DGHS & all States authorities for counseling.
NTA has no role in counseling and MBBS, BDS seat allotment.
NEET UG Eligibility Criteria:
Minimum eligibility criteria to appear in NEET-UG are as follows:
1) You must be more than 17 years old at the time of admission in MBBS, BDS courses.
2) There is no maximum NEET-UG age limit for Indian candidates.
*A Relaxation of 5 years is given to SC, ST & OBC students.
3) Candidates appearing in class 12th exams must apply for the NEET-UG.
4) Students who studied Physics, Chemistry & Biology with English and any other elective subjects in class 12th must apply if:
*If marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology subjects together is more than 50% marks for General & 40% marks for SC, ST, OBC students.
5) Candidates who studied Biology or Biotechnology as an Elective subject in class 12th are not eligible to apply for NEET-UG.
6) Students who passed class 12th from open school or as a private candidate are not allowed to write the NEET UG.
Admission in MBBS & BDS will be done through the NEET UG score.

Review the details filled and press enter to receive a One time Password on the registered mobile number.
Now, Create a Password for Your account to complete the application form.
- Login to Your Account using Your application number & password.
Now, You can fill other details required in order to complete the NEET exam application form.
Enter Your Place of Birth by selecting Your state and district.
Choose the Medium (Language) of the question paper.
Select 4 options for the exam center.
Fill in Your academic details of class 10th, 11th, & 12th.
Enter Your Permanent & Correspondence Address. Details of Parents including qualification, occupation, annual income.
Review Your application and hit enter to submit the details.
- Upload Your photograph & signature in the application form
Now, You need to upload Your photograph and signature scanned copy to the NEET Exam application form.
The photograph must of size 10 KB to 200 Kb and signature of size 4 KB to 30 KB in JPG type format.
- Payment of NEET exam application fee
You can pay the NEET exam fee through net banking, credit card, debit card, or cash deposit through bank challan.
After fee payment, You will be shown a message that You have successfully completed your application and paid the fee.
- Print confirmation page after successfully completing the fee payment.
You must take a printout of the confirmation page and proof of fee paid.
Also, You must keep 6 to 8 copies of identical photographs as uploaded in the application form.

NEET UG Exam Pattern
NEET UG Exam
The NEET-UG question paper is divided into 3 sections.
It consists of 180 multiple choice questions with 4 answer choice options.
All questions asked are from class 11th & 12th Biology, Physics & Chemistry subjects.
The exam is conducted for 3 hours from 2 PM – 5 PM.
Each question carries 4 marks.
You will get 4 marks for each correct answer and for each incorrect response, -1 marks will be deducted from the total score.

Medium of Question Paper:
NEET UG is conducted in more than 11 languages.
You can choose the medium of the question paper as in the following languages:

Choosing the medium of exam question paper must be done carefully while filling the application form as it cannot be changed later.
You must also select the test centers where the regional language is spoken.
The NEET-UG is conducted across 150 cities across all states and union territories of India.
You must select 4 test centers near your location while filling the NEET UG application form.
NEET Exam Admit Card:
NEET UG Admit card is made available on the NTA website 15 days prior to the exam.
It can be downloaded from April 2024 onwards.
Login to Your account created on the NTA website to download your Admit card.
You will also get a copy of the NEET-UG Admit card to the registered email id at the time of downloading the admit card.
NEET UG Admit Card will have the following details:
1) Candidate’s Roll Number.
2) Student Name, Father Name & Category.
3) Candidate Photograph, Signature, Date of Birth.
4) The language of Question Paper with Name & Address of Exam center.
Instruction to be followed at the NEET Exam Center.
All Exam centers will open 2 hours prior to the commencement of the NEET exam.
You must bring the following documents to the exam center:
1) A print copy of the NEET-UG Admit card as downloaded from the NTA website.
2) Passport Size Photograph as uploaded on the NTA website during application form filling.
3) Any authorized photo ID proof such as Passport, Aadhar, Voter, or Pan card.
4) Physically Disabled certificate if applied for relaxation under PwD category.
Detailed information about Test Booklet, Answer Sheet and Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) will be available on the NTA website before the exam.
Dress Code:
Light clothes with half sleeves shirt, slippers or sandals are the dress code for NEET exams.
Long sleeves shirt, shoes are not permitted at the exam center.

NEET UG Exam Results
The NTA will announce the NEET UG 2024 results on or before 30th May 2024.
The NEET-UG result is used for admission in the following courses:
1) MBBS Admission in India
2) BDS Admission in India
3) Ayush Courses
4) MBBS Admission in Foreign Medical Colleges
Scoring & Marking:
Each question asked in the NEET UG carries 4 marks.
You will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer and -1 marks will be deducted from the total score for each wrong response.
However, no marks will be deducted if no response is selected for any question.
The test booklet code printed on the answer sheet will be used for the evaluation of your OMR responses.

You must qualify for the NEET-UG to get admission in MBBS or BDS in India.
Also, Indian national students who want to study MBBS Abroad in foreign medical colleges must pass the NEET UG.

NEET UG Rank on basis of Marks
The NEET-UG 2024 cut-off marks shall be derived on the basis highest marks scored in the all India merit list.
The cut-off marks can be decreased if a sufficient number of candidates in respective categories failed to secure the minimum marks.
NTA will upload the results of all students who appeared in the NEET-UG as per their Roll Number and Marks obtained.

NEET UG Score Card bears the following details:

3) Application & Roll Number
4) Cut-off Score
5) All India Rank & Category Rank
The NTA will provide the All India Rank to the counseling authorities.
Students will be invited for the counseling and merit list will be drawn based on All India Rank.
A merit list of the qualified candidates is prepared by counseling authorities on basis of All India Rank.
All students will be admitted for MBBS & BDS on basis of merit list following the existing reservation policy.

15% All India Quota Seats:
Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCI, PIO & Foreign National candidates are eligible for All India quota seats except students of Jammu & Kashmir.
Jammu & Kashmir has opted out of the all India seat allotment counseling scheme since its inception.
Students of Jammu & Kashmir state can apply for Private, Deemed, AFMC Medical & Dental colleges.
Reservation of seats in Govt. Medical & Dental colleges under All India Quota Seats:
1) 15% of seats are reserved for SC candidates
2) 7.5% of seats are reserved for ST candidates
3) 27% of seats in central institutions are reserved for OBC candidates
4) 5% of seats of total intake is reserved for physically disabled candidates.
State Quota seats in Government, Minority & Private Institutions:
State quota seat counseling will be done on basis of NEET Exam score following the reservation policy of the respective state & union territory.
Deemed & Central University seats:
DGHS will conduct counseling for admission in AFMC, ESIC, AMU, BHU, Deemed & Central University.
You can apply online through the MCC website for Deemed & Central university seat counseling.
Conclusion:
More than 18.5 Lakh students have registered for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-UG 2024.
But around 6 Lakhs students (approx 50%) are only able to score more than cut-off marks.
