A) The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) conducts counseling for 15% All India Quota MBBS seats, 50% All India Quota MD/MS seats in government medical colleges of India except the state of Jammu & Kashmir & 100% seats in deemed medical colleges of India. The Medical Counselling Committee is an online portal of DGHS to conduct online counselling & seat allotment. Only NEET Exam qualified students are eligible to register for online counseling.
A) There are 63 medical colleges in Karnataka offering MBBS degree, 19 government medical colleges, 41 private medical colleges & 13 deemed medical universities. There are around 10145 MBBS seats in Karnataka. Most of the medical private & government medical colleges in Karnataka are affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.
A) There is no service bond after course completion in deemed medical colleges of Karnataka but all students have to provide an undertaking for the payment of the annual tuition fee in a stamp paper. Also, if you vacate the seat after the last date of counseling, you will have to pay the entire course fee as a penalty to the college but if you vacate the seats during the 2nd or 3rd round of counseling, the 1st year fee paid will be reimbursed. There will be an additional charge for reallocation of seats during the 2nd or 3rd round of counseling.
