About NEET SS 2025 – Super Specialty Courses Entrance Examination
NEET SS is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination, a single entrance examination to various DM and M.Ch. Courses as per the Indian Medical Council Act 2016.
Please note NEET SS is a single-window entrance examination for all Super Speciality DM and MCh courses in India. No other entrance examination, either at the state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to DM and M.Ch Courses as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 2016 w.e.f. 2025 admission session.
Scope of NEET SS (DM, M.Ch)
National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test Super Specialty (NEET SS) exam is a single eligibility cum entrance examination for admission to Super Specialty Courses. NEET SS is for admission to Super Specialty courses and will include the following
- All DM and MCh courses in the country including all Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities all across the country
- All DM and M.Ch courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.
Institutions not filled through NEET SS
Centralized admissions do not cover the following Medical institutions in India for DM and MCh seats through NEET SS
- AIIMS, New Delhi
- PGIMER, Chandigarh
- JIPMER, Puducherry
- NIMHANS, Bengaluru
- Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum
No state government /private medical college/universities, including the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh, shall be conducting any separate entrance exam for admission to their Super Specialty DM and MCh Courses for the academic session 2025-26.
Qualifying Criteria and Validity
Candidates with the 50th percentile or above shall be declared as qualified in the NEET-SS exam within their respective specialties. NEET Result is valid for the current admission session only.

NEET SS 2025 Exam Pattern
The NEET SS exam pattern changed last year. Time-bound sections have been introduced. While the total number of questions and duration remained the same, the questions were divided into three sections of 50 questions each, with a duration of 50 minutes. It is expected that the NEET SS 2025 exam pattern will continue to be the same as last year.

NEET SS 2025 Question Paper Analysis
The NEET SS 2025 question paper is provided onscreen as it is a computer-based test (CBT). The difficulty level of the exam is likely to range from moderate to tough. The NEET SS question papers are expected to consist majority of topics from the syllabus, or the postgraduate medical curriculum. In general, technical glitches or snags are not common in the NEET SS exam. According to students, the NEET SS 2024 question paper was of a moderate to tough difficulty level. The questions and topics were from the expected lines. While some groups such as Obstetrics and Gynaecology, questions were easier than last year, some other groups such as Medical Oncology and Critical Care Medicine were tougher than last year.

NEET SS 2025 Result
The NEET SS result 2025 will be released tentatively within a month of conducting the exam. Hence, it is likely that the NEET SS result will be out by the first week of December 2025.

- Select ‘NEET SS’ from the tabs given on the home page
- Click on the ‘Results’ tab
- Select the result PDF for the respective super speciality course
- Scroll through the list to find the NEET SS 2025 roll number
- Check the marks and rank obtained in the PDF
- Save the NEET SS 2024 result for future reference

NEET SS 2025 Counselling
The NEET SS counselling process will be conducted tentatively from January 2026 to April 2026. The NEET SS counselling is conducted for admission to DM, MCh and DNB SS seats across India, for the All India Quota (AIQ) seats. Only those candidates who would qualify for the exam by securing the NEET SS cutoff marks will be eligible to participate in the counselling process of NEET SS 2025. The total duration of NEET SS 2025 counselling is likely to range from three to four months, and the rounds may extend based on vacant seats.
