The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, Lucknow, has released the Round 1 seat matrix for UP NEET UG 2026 counselling. The matrix lists the total intake and category-wise seat break-up for every participating college, covering both MBBS and BDS courses.

Seat Distribution Overview

The seat matrix covers colleges under three broad categories:

  • Autonomous State Medical Colleges (Government)
  • Other Government Medical Colleges and University-run institutions, including King George Medical University and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences
  • Private Medical and Dental Colleges, including several with minority status (Muslim, Sikh, and Jain minority institutions)

Each college’s entry breaks seats down across Unrestricted (UR), Backward Class (BC), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Economically Weaker Section (EW) categories, with further sub-splits for Open, Girls, Physically Handicapped, Ex-Servicemen, Freedom Fighter, and Non-Creamy Layer allocations.
