The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, has cancelled the Round 1 online counselling process for MBBS and BDS admissions under UP NEET UG Counselling 2026.
As a result, the earlier Round 1 seat allotment result and admissions granted on its basis have also been cancelled. Candidates must participate in fresh choice filling under the revised counselling schedule.
Why UP Round 1 Was Cancelled
The decision follows an order issued by the Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench, on September 16, 2026.
In compliance with the Court’s order, the Uttar Pradesh Government directed DGME to conduct the Round 1 choice-filling and seat-allotment process again according to a revised schedule.
What the Cancellation Means
The earlier Round 1 result and related admissions are no longer valid.
Candidates should note:
- Earlier Round 1 seat allotments stand cancelled.
- Admissions completed on the basis of the earlier result are also cancelled.
- All eligible candidates must fill their choices again.
- Candidates who previously received a seat must also participate in fresh choice filling.
- Candidates should not make duplicate registrations or payments without official instructions.
- Further instructions will be displayed through the counselling dashboard and DGME UP portal.
