The college was set up by forming a society by the government of Rajasthan. The society was later registered as Jhalawar Medical College Society in August 2008. The JMC Jhalawar is affiliated with the Rajasthan University of Medical Science and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The first MBBS batch of 100 students was admitted in 2008 through RPMT& AIPMT Since 2016 college got permission by MCI for 150 students per year. Now, from 2019, college admits 200 students per year.
