Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS Wardha) was established in 1969 and is run by the Kasturba Health Society Trust. It is one of the oldest medical colleges in Wardha, Maharashtra. It is commonly known as MGIMS Wardha. MGIMS is affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and is approved by the NMC (National Medical Commission). MGIMS Wardha is India’s first rural medical college, nestled in the Karmabhoomi of Mahatma Gandhi in Sevagram. It was started by Dr Sushila Nayyar.
