Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2026 Round 1 Counselling Registration Extended

In a significant relief for thousands of medical aspirants, the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DME), Tamil Nadu, has officially extended the Round 1 counselling registration, choice filling, and choice locking deadline for NEET UG 2026 admissions. The decision, announced through Notification No. 17/SCS1(1)/2026 dated August 18, 2026, gives candidates additional time to complete their applications

As per Notification No. 17/SCS1(1)/2026 dated August 18, 2026, the Selection Committee stated that as per the MCC’s notification (Ref. U-11011/07/2026-MEC) dated August 17, 2026, the counselling for All India Quota seats has been extended. Accordingly, the Tamil Nadu State UG Medical Counselling Round 1 process has also been extended to keep it in sync with the central schedule.
