Lucknow, September 3, 2026: UP NEET UG 2026 Round 1 choice filling begins for candidates seeking MBBS and BDS admission in Uttar Pradesh.
Online choice filling for the first round of UP NEET UG 2026 counselling started today, September 2, 2026, at 5:00 PM, the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh, announced.
Candidates aspiring for MBBS and BDS seats under the state quota in government and private medical and dental colleges and universities across Uttar Pradesh can now lock in their choices on the official counselling portal. The window will remain open till September 5, 2026, 5:00 PM.
About the Notice
The process is being carried out as per the schedule set by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), New Delhi, for NEET UG courses, under notification number M.E-3/2026/1603 issued on September 1, 2026.
Key Guidelines for Candidates
- Only candidates declared successful in the NEET UG-2026 entrance examination are eligible to participate in UP NEET UG-2026 counselling.
- Only candidates who have deposited the security money and whose documents are verified will be eligible for choice-filling.
- Candidates must fill their choices for seats in Government/Private medical/dental colleges based on their own priority, selecting only those colleges where they wish to take admission.
- Choice-locking is mandatory after online choice-filling. Candidates who fail to lock their choices will be automatically excluded from the allotment process.
- Once choices are locked, no modification/change will be permitted under any circumstances, and the Directorate will not consider any application in this regard.
- For candidates allotted seats in Government sector medical/dental colleges, the admission process will be completed at the allotted college.
- For candidates allotted seats in private sector medical/dental colleges, the admission process will be completed at the Nodal Centre designated by the government. The list of Nodal Centres is available in the UP NEET UG-2026 brochure.
- Candidates should personally check the Tuition Fee details for minority/nonminority private medical/dental colleges, available on the official websites https://upneet.gov.in and https://dgme.up.gov.in
- Candidates allotted seats in private sector medical/dental colleges must deposit the Tuition Fee prescribed by the government/minority institution via a CTS bank draft made in favour of “Director General, Medical Education & Training, U.P., Payable at Lucknow”, payable in Lucknow, at the designated Nodal Centre at the time of admission. Failure to do so will result in automatic cancellation of admission.
