This total is state-wise for India for the academic year 2026-27. The NEET PG exam is held for 38,436 MD seats, 19,535 MS seats, and 389 PG Diploma seats. It covers 639 government, private, and deemed or central university campuses.
How NEET PG Seats Are Distributed to Candidates
Based on NEET PG Cut Off Marks, NBE publishes the merit list for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) aspirants. This merit list contains names of such candidates who are eligible for NEET PG Counseling procedure. Students get admissions in MD/MS/DNB programs through counseling process only. Before seat allotment, candidates need to register first. After the registration process, they declare choices. Seat allotment result gets published as per NEET PG rank, reservation factor etc.
