Gangtok, September 4, 2026: Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS), Sikkim Manipal University has announced that fresh MBBS registration for Second Round Counselling 2026 will open shortly.
Registration Window
As per the official notice dated 04.09.2026, fresh registration will be open:
- From: 6th September 2026, 10:00 AM
- To: 7th September 2026, Midnight
Candidates must complete the registration process through the official website: www.smu.edu.in
Eligibility for Fresh Registration
- Fresh registration is open only for candidates who have not registered for First Round Counselling.
- Candidates who have already registered in Round 1 need not register again.
- Candidates who registered earlier but could not complete their application can log in with their existing credentials and complete the process.
Important Note
SMIMS has clarified that counselling will be held subject to availability of seats, based on withdrawals by students who joined in the 1st Round.

Candidates interested in MBBS admissions at SMIMS Sikkim through Round 2 counselling are advised to complete fresh registration between September 6-7, 2026, note that previously registered candidates need not register again, and regularly check the official SMIMS website for seat availability updates as counselling will be conducted based on vacancies arising from withdrawals after Round 1.
