The Directorate of Medical Education, Government of West Bengal has released the official notice (Memo No. HFW-23099/361/2023/M/2317, dated 7th September 2026) for NEET UG AYUSH Counselling 2026, covering State Quota, AYUSH Private College Management Quota, and AYUSH Private College Central Quota seats.
Who Can Apply for State Quota
Candidates applying for West Bengal State Quota seats must be domicile in the state – either the candidate themselves or their parent(s). Domicile can be established through:
- Proforma a1 – for candidates residing in WB continuously for at least 10 years as on 31st December 2025, having passed both Class 10 and 12 from WB.
- Proforma a2 – same residency condition, but for candidates who passed 10+2 in 2026 from WB.
- Proforma b – for candidates who studied outside WB but whose parent(s) are permanent WB residents for at least the last 10 years.
- A valid e-District domicile certificate is also accepted, subject to the same conditions.
Only specific authorities (District Magistrates, Police officials of designated rank, Judicial Magistrates, senior government officers, etc.) are authorized to sign these certificates – certification from local body representatives such as Councillors, Panchayat members, MLAs, or MPs is not accepted.
Management & Central Quota Seats
- Management Quota seats in private AYUSH colleges are open to all NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates, regardless of domicile, based on combined merit rank – there is no caste or PwD reservation, though caste/PwD status determines cut-off eligibility (UR/EWS: 50 percentile; UR-PwD/EWS-PwD: 45 percentile; SC/ST/OBC and their PwD variants: 40 percentile).
- AYUSH Private College Central Quota seats (available till Round 3) are similarly open-category and open to non-domicile candidates as well.
Caste, PwD, and Eligibility Rules
- Candidates who declared UR/EWS status in NEET UG 2026 but hold a valid West Bengal OBC certificate (with NCL certificate issued on/after 1st April 2026) can declare OBC status during WB registration.
- Candidates with SC/ST/OBC/EWS certificates from other states will be treated as Unreserved for state quota counselling.
- PwD status must be verified through the Primary Medical Assessment Board at NRS Medical College, Kolkata, or other centres designated by the MCC, New Delhi – certificates from any other institute will not be accepted.
- Minimum eligibility: 50%/40%/40% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined for UR/EWS, UR-PwD/EWS-PwD, and SC/ST/OBC candidates respectively, with individual passes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English at 10+2 level.
- Candidates must be at least 17 years old by 31st December 2026 (born on or before 1st January 2010).
Counselling Fees
- Rs. 2,000/- for Unreserved candidates
- Rs. 1,500/- for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS candidates
- Fees are non-refundable and paid online; bank transaction charges are borne by the candidate.
Documents Required
Candidates must carry originals plus self-attested photocopies for physical verification, including the Candidate Profile Letter, payment receipt, NEET UG 2026 admit card and rank card, age proof, Class 10+2 marksheet, and a Medical Fitness Certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner. State Quota candidates additionally need domicile and caste certificates (issued in West Bengal) and parent ID proof where applicable.
Counselling Process Overview
The process follows: Online Registration → Fee Payment → Candidate Profile Letter Generation → Physical Document Verification → Choice Filling → Choice Locking → Seat Allotment → Final Document Verification at Allotted College → Admission, spread across three main rounds plus an online stray vacancy round. Key rules include:
- Seat surrender is free in Round 1, but attracts forfeiture of admission fees in Round 2, and is not allowed from Round 3 onward.
- Non-reported candidates in a round may join later rounds under specific conditions, but repeated non-reporting eventually excludes them from further counselling.
- Any suppression of facts, misinformation, or fabricated documents will lead to immediate cancellation of candidature.
