Why Permission Was Denied
Devs Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital:
The college had applied for permission to conduct BHMS admissions for 50 seats.
During the inspection conducted on May 20 and 21, 2026, followed by a hearing on June 12, 2026, MARBH identified several deficiencies, including:
- Sixteen vacant teaching posts across different departments.
- Inadequate attendance marking by teaching staff through AEBAS.
- Four teaching staff members not marking attendance at all.
- No male yoga instructor.
- No hostel facility for male and female students.
- Non-functional hospital services.
- Non-availability of a surgeon, gynaecologist, pathologist and Chief Medical Officer.
- Lack of NABH and NABL accreditation.
- Non-functional laboratory and operation theatre units.
- Salary structures not compliant with NCH norms.
Gurunanak Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital:
The college had applied for permission to conduct BHMS admissions for 100 seats.
The inspection held on May 20 and 21, 2026, and the hearing held on June 10, 2026, identified the following deficiencies:
- Fifteen vacant teaching posts against the required strength.
- No male yoga instructor.
- Shortage of a general physician, surgeon, obstetrician and gynaecologist.
- No pathologist, house physicians, operation theatre nurse or operation assistant.
- Shortage of a yoga instructor, physiotherapist and dietician.
- NABH accreditation still under process.
- Functionality of the operation theatre, labour room and clinical teaching room could not be established.
MARBH Denies Permission
Based on the inspection and hearing findings, MARBH issued denial of permission to both institutions for BHMS admissions for 2026–27.
The decision was taken under Regulation 8 of the NCH (Assessment and Rating of Medical Institutions) Regulations, 2024. The colleges may appeal against the decision before the Commission within 30 days of receiving the communication, as provided under Section 14(1) of the regulations.
What This Means for Candidates
Candidates participating in BHMS All India Quota counselling should note that:
- The two colleges will not appear as selectable options.
- Candidates cannot choose these colleges while the options remain disabled.
- The options may be activated if the colleges receive the required permission.
- Any future update will depend on the decision of MARBH, NCH and the counselling authorities.
- Candidates should check the updated seat matrix before filling choices.
The disabled options do not necessarily represent a permanent cancellation of the colleges’ recognition. Their availability will depend on whether the required regulatory permission is granted for the academic session.
