Sree Balaji Medical College & Hospital is a constituent college of Bharath University, Declared under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. It is situated at Chromepet, Chennai. It is approved by the Medical council of India, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Govt of India, New Delhi. The college is situated in the heart of Chennai City and is close to the Chrompet Railway station, bus stand and Airport.

Eligibility Criteria 2024:

Eligibility Criteria for Sree Balaji Medical College & Hospital:

The Institution offers MBBS and MD/MS programs recognized by the Medical Council of India. Sree Balaji Hospital, the 1000-bed teaching hospital attached to the Institution provides all levels of holistic health care including major super-specialty services and provides excellent training opportunities to the students of the Academy.

MBBS Degree

Duration – 4 1/2 years + 1-year Internship Eligibility marks – As per MCI norms

Academic Qualifications & Eligibility

Candidates who have passed HSC examination (Academic Stream of 10 +2 curriculum) of any State/CBSE/ISC or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, with the group of subjects specified below and obtained the minimum eligible marks prescribed are eligible to apply for admission to the course concerned.

MCI Norms:

Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks (in case of SC/ST/OBC 40%) taking together Physics, Chemistry & Biology and pass in English in the qualifying examination.

Age Limit:

Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the academic year. Date of birth given in the HSC/CBSE/ISC marks sheet or in the Birth Certificate/ Passport shall be taken for computing age of the candidate.

Post Graduate Degree Courses – MD/MS

The minimum qualification for admission to the postgraduate program is an MBBS degree or an equivalent degree recognized by the University and MCI. Eligibility MBBS course must have passed in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology at the qualifying examination.

In respect of candidates longing to SC/ST or other OBC, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken in qualifying examination be 40%.

First Year One-time non-refundable and non-transferable Registration fee of Rs.10,000/- for programs with annual fees of Rs.1,00,000/- and above.
